Fine Motor Development

Games and Activities for working on fine motor skills.

The Magnet Game

Students roll the dice and then fill in the spaces on the "road" with small button magnets until they get to the win space. Then of course, they can do the winner dance! Everyone has their own version of what this celebration looks like.

I used metal cookie sheets for the tray. The magnets stick to it and don't roll around much!

I drew the game board and printed off copies for each tray. All we need is a dice and we are ready to play. I have some of the foam dice and also regular ones. The dollar store is a great shopping place for these kind of materials for fine motor skill work.

The Pizza Game

Using Circles, I divided them into sections like a pizza. Then I stamped dots with a pencil eraser and stamp pad to put on numbers like you find on dice for each section. there are twelve sections and two "pieces" with each dice number on it.

To play, students roll the dice. They find a section with the matching number, and clip a clothespin or other clip to that section and then roll again. Continue rolling until all sections have a clip and then  they are the Winner! I tell the kids to do a winner dance and then take off the clips.
